About Us

The College

The Hon’ble Govt. of Himachal Pradesh approved the proposal for the opening of this college of Education by granting the No Objection Certificate in December, 1997. The Northern Region Committee, Jaipur (Raj) of the National Council for Teacher Education granted recognition to the college during the year 1998-99. The total intake of the institution is 200 seats.

LATE RAJA SURENDER SINGH JI

Himachal Education Promotion Society (Regd.) has declared cash awards of Rs. 30,000/-, 20,000/- and
10,000/- for the I, II & III position holder respectively in H.P. University (Shimla) Merit List, in memory of Late Raja Surender Singh.

LATE PROF. (DR.) N.C. PARASHAR JI

Himachal Education Promotion Society (Regd.) has declared an award of Rs. 25,000/-(Twenty Five Thousand only)
to the Best Teacher of the Session, in the memory of Late Prof. (Dr.) N.C. Parashar (Ex. Minister & Ex. M.P.)

History of College

The institution is run by the Himachal Education Promotion Society (Regd.) at Shimla, registered under the society registration act, xxi of 1860 from July 1st, 1997. Himachal College of Education is duly affiliated to HPU since 1999.
